8. Abel Kent

Location: OS4 near Plot 350
Abel Kent’s tombstone is made of white marble. By the early 1800s quarries made white marble available and affordable. It was easy to carve, texture, and add three-dimensional images reflecting the sentimental memorials of Victorian times. Kent’s stone shows a carved hand with one finger pointing towards heaven.
